24/7/365 battery health monitoring allows Cologix to recognize a reduction of a battery's efficiency in advance of battery failure. This early detection allows impact free replacement of batteries, reducing maintenance windows and preventing downtime.

This is one of the COL3 CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) galleries. It offers 770 tons of cooling capacity per data center hall and houses VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) fire detection systems. All three data center halls maintain a minimum of N+1 cooling.

We Protect Your Critical Infrastructure
Cologix offers five levels of security at every facility to protect your data. All visitors must pass through our five layers of physical security before gaining access to any customer cabinets, cages or suites. Additional survelliance and detection systems monitor entry and exit points.
Main Entrance
A Tier III certified facility, COL3 is built to weather any storm. Able to withstand an EF4 tornado, it offers reinforced concrete and precast panels which resist impact of up to 200 mph. Concurrently maintainable, it offers scalable power solutions and customized, flexible, hyper-secure solutions for hyperscale & enterprise customers.
Backup Fueling
On-site fuel capacity for 72 hours run-time at full load with redundant 36,000-gallon tanks on-site, priority refueling from diverse suppliers & facility exemption from emergency power.

Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus.
Security Desk
Trained security personnel on duty 24/7/365 provide a manned, lobby security station as well as operate survellience systems and physically walk through the data center. As the single point for visitor clearance, the human security checkpoint is protected by bullet resistant glass and ballistic wall panels. Guards may issue badges to provide door access.
AC/DC Power Available
Cologix standard low voltage pathways and AC/DC power with 3 MW of critical infrastructure power available at an average density of 5 kW per cabinet. Data center PDUs are monitored down to the customer breaker or branch circuit.

Secured-Locking Cabinets
Space for smaller deployments and/or deployments not requiring a custom cage are available.
Customer Staging Area
Customer burn-in area for customers to set up and configure equipment with a dedicated UPS to protect customers equipment prior to racking the equipment in their cabinet.

13,200kVA stepdown transformer maintained by Cologix which allows us to be our own substation.

Turnstile
The main circle lock provides access to all four data center halls. It is a single person, anti tailgating device and requires badge and biometrics to enter.
Rooftop Courtyard Protects IT Infrastructure
Protected by a 200 mile an hour wind wall giving our exterior infrastructure the same protection as our internal assets, the rooftop courtyard includes important systems.
The roof system itself has no penetrations above the data halls and no external drains run above and/or under the data center floors. The roof was constructed with a white PVC membrane to prevent water penetration and prevents excess heat energy accumulation.
Rooftop Grounding System
The grounding system consists of a grounding loop that encompasses the entire COL3 facility as well as eight 10’ grounding rods. The building ground system connects to the main grounding loop and is present in each data hall, electrical rooms, mechanical rooms and generator rooms.
Rooftop Heat Rejection System
The heat rejection system consists of 85 condensers which leverage a free cooling component to maximize efficiency. The condensers are stand-alone refrigerant systems for each CRAC unit.
Rooftop Lightning Protection System
The lightning protection system has been designed to NFPA standards and air discharge rods have been mounted to the exterior edges of the building parapets as well as select condensers in the
heat rejection courtyard.

COL3 offers connectivity to more than 50 network providers (including the Ohio-IX Internet Exchange) and over 20 cloud service providers, including direct access to Amazon Web Services via the AWS Direct Connect node, providing customers low-latency access to the AWS and Google US East 2 region.
As the interconnection core, we took extra precaution to make sure our customers are always connected and protected. The room consists of a secured A-side/B-side layout with biometric readers controlling access and HD video monitoring on all aisles. All of our carriers have independent and diverse paths to COL3 and the low voltage fiber and copper connectivity has been designed with completely redundant A/B paths from building entrance to each customer cabinet.
Loading Dock
1,500 lbs/SQF with dedicated, sunken loading deck. Additional restrooms provided for delivery personnel to protect COL3 facility access into hardened security spaces.

with Our Generator Bays
Capacity for 16, 2.5 MW Caterpillar generators. As with utility, generators are maintained in a 2N configuration. Generator rooms are separated with three-hour fire walls. Each generator has a “halo” system for sprinkler coverage.

Mantrap
Each data center hall has a separate mantrap entrance requiring dual authentication with a valid access card and corresponding fingerprint validation with 2-factor authentication. Dual interlocked, automatic doors.

Security Lobby
Within the Security Lobby, visitor identity must be verified with valid government-issued photo identification.
An intrusion detection system monitors all ingress/egress points throughout the facility, while on-premises security personnel physically monitor the facility.
